4 cups bread flour (plus more for dusting)

1 ½ cups warm water (around 100°F or 38°C)

2 teaspoons active dry yeast

2 teaspoons sea salt

1 tablespoon olive oil (optional for flavor)

1 teaspoon sugar (to activate yeast)

Instructions
 

In a small bowl, combine warm water (not too hot) and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast on top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour and sea salt. Mix well to ensure the salt is evenly distributed.

      Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the foamy yeast mixture and olive oil.

        Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix until the dough starts to come together.

          Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

            Form the dough into a ball and place it in a greased bowl, covering it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap.

              Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 to 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.

                Once risen, punch down the dough to release the air. Divide it into 2-4 equal portions, depending on the size of your pizzas.

                  Shape each portion into a ball, cover with a damp cloth, and let them rest for another 30 minutes.

                    Preheat your oven to the highest setting (usually around 475°F or 245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

                      Roll out each dough ball on a floured surface to your desired thickness, then add your favorite toppings.

                        Bake until the crust is golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy your artisan pizza!
