Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 cup beef broth

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Cooked white rice, for serving

Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Green onions, sliced (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

Marinate the Beef:

In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

      Prepare the Broccoli:

Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

          Make the Sauce:

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and beef broth. Set aside.

              Cook the Beef:

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated beef in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes without stirring until browned; then flip and cook for another minute. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

                  Stir-fry Broccoli and Aromatics:

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the blanched broccoli and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.

                      Combine and Finish:

Return the beef to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the prepared sauce over the mixture, tossing everything to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and everything is heated through.

                          Serve:

Serve the beef and broccoli hot over a bed of cooked white rice. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired.
