Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup chicken broth

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine or spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Once hot, add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Allow it to reduce for about 2-3 minutes.

Add Cream and Cheese: Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water until your desired consistency is reached.

Combine Everything: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Add the cooked pasta, gently mixing to combine everything thoroughly. Heat through for a minute or two, adding more pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

Serve: Divide the creamy garlic shrimp pasta among plates. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
