Ingredients

1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Lemon wedges, for serving

Optional: ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved

Instructions

Sauté Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Once sizzling, add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare Garlic Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

Add Cream and Parmesan: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy.

Combine Shrimp: Return the shrimp to the skillet and add chopped parsley. If using, stir in the cherry tomatoes for added flavor and color. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until everything is warmed through.

Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side, over a bed of pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
