Ingredients

1 package of Hawaiian rolls (12 rolls)

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for cooking)

Maple syrup (for serving)

Fresh fruit (pineapple, strawberries, or bananas for garnish)

Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Prep the Rolls: Slice each Hawaiian roll in half horizontally, creating 12 halves. Set aside.

Make the Custard Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.

Soak the Rolls: Dip each half of the Hawaiian roll into the custard mixture, allowing them to soak for about 15-30 seconds on each side. Ensure they are well coated but not falling apart.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet or griddle, melt the butter over medium heat. Make sure it coats the bottom of the pan.

Cook the Rolls: Place the soaked rolls in the pan, cut side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and slightly crispy. You may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your pan.

Serve: Remove the cooked rolls from the pan and serve warm with a drizzle of maple syrup. Garnish with fresh fruit and dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch.
