Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crispiness)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Set Up Breading Stations: In a shallow bowl, place the flour. In a second bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. In a third bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, and Italian seasoning.

Bread the Chicken: Dip each chicken breast first in the flour, shaking off the excess. Then, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken in the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure it adheres well.

Cook the Chicken: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Bake: Once the chicken is browned, transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).

Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and enjoy your delicious Longhorn Parmesan Crusted Chicken!
