Ingredients

1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips

1 green bell pepper, sliced into strips

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch ginger, minced

2 tablespoons black pepper (freshly cracked)

Salt to taste

Cooked jasmine rice (for serving)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, marinate the sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated steak and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sauté the sliced onions, garlic, and ginger until the onions are translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the bell peppers to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.

Return the cooked steak to the skillet. Add the freshly cracked black pepper and salt to taste. Toss everything together to combine and heat through for another 2 minutes.

Serve the sizzling pepper steak hot over a bed of jasmine rice. Enjoy the colorful and flavorful dish!
