White Cheddar and Spinach Chicken Burgers

1 lb ground chicken

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs

1 egg, beaten

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

4 hamburger buns

Lettuce leaves (for serving)

Tomato slices (for serving)

Olive oil (for grilling)

Instructions
 

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.

    Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Gently press your thumb into the center of each patty to help keep their shape while cooking.

      Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium heat. Lightly grease the grill or skillet with olive oil.

        Cook the chicken patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the patties are golden brown.

          During the last minute of cooking, place the hamburger buns cut-side down on the grill or skillet until toasted.

            Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each toasted bun, followed by the chicken patty, and top with a slice of tomato.

              Add the top half of the buns and serve immediately with your favorite condiments or sides.
